Biography

Mary Field was born in 1664 in Henrico, Colony of Virginia, the daughter of Thomas Field and Mary Burton.[1]

Mary Fields married Edward Jones, the Constable for a precinct north of the James for the year 1690. Edward Jones died before 1695. From this marriage there were two daughters:

  1. Tabitha Jones, who married John Robinson.
  2. Elizabeth Jones, who married John Turbefield

Mary Fields Jones then married Charles Scruggs, born before 1666, who was transported to Virginia before 1679 by Henry Wyatt of New Kent County. He was a widower with a daughter, Mary Scruggs, who married John Pyrant and was mentioned in her grandfather's will, being left a " heifer and a cow ". Charles Scruggs and Mary Fields Jones married between April 1697 and February 1, 1698\99. From this marriage there was a daughter:

  1. Judith Scruggs, born about 1700, who married William Bradshaw

When Charles wrote his will in 1718, Judith was left "all my worldly goods ". William, his son-in-law, was his executor. [2]

Two of Mary's grand children, Susannah Robinson, daughter of Tabatha Jones and John Robinson, and William Bradshaw, son of Judith Scrugs and William Bradshaw, were married.

She passed away in 1718.

Field-4694 and Field-457 appear to represent the same person because: daughter Judith is the same, death for Mary also same. Have already suggested merge for daughter Judith, but mother will need to be merged first
Could we please change the current last name to Scruggs since that was her final husband? Jones as her previous husband should be in other last names (AKA).
Since Jones was Mary's first husband, final last name at death should be Scruggs not Jones.
No evidence of Mary Field (who married first Edward Jones and then Charles Scruggs) ever being married to a Robertson.
Field-457 and Field-3726 are not ready to be merged because: Okay let’s remember that I as project leader of this project profile promised a week for any comments, starting today.

I am going to set the proposed merge back to an unmerged match for that purpose. Thank you for your patience!!
