Biography

Ann Field was born in 1735, on the Maryland/Pennsylvania Border, a daughter of William Field (1698-1748) and wife Jane. Ann married Ninian Hamilton, born November 28, 1739. They moved to South Carolina, around 1789, then to Kentucky, by 1796, and to Missouri before 1802. Proof of her maiden name is found on the marriage of their daughter Sarah. On 6 March 1801 Theophile McKinnon, son of Dan McKinnon and Catherine Lanam, native of Maryland, widower of Sara McDonald, and Sara Hamilton, daughter of Ninian Hamilton and Ann Field, native of North Carolina were married.[1]

Children of Ann and Ninian include:

  • Wiliam Hamilton, born 1765, died 1832, married Elizabeth Tanzey
  • Andrew Hamilton, born 1767, died May, 1849, married Penelope
  • Margaret Hamilton, born 1769, married Leonard Farrar
  • Sarah Hamilton, born 1772, married Thiohilus McKinney

  • Jane Hamilton, born 1780, married Joshua Tanzey
  • Ann Hamilton, unmarried in 1802
  • Mary "Polly" Hamilton born circa 1784, died 1836/37, married Robert Bay

Ann and Ninian were listed in the 1830 census of St Louis county, Missouri. Ninian Hamilton died June 14, 1836, in St Louis County, Missouri. [2]
