There is no valid evidence that Milly was married to or cohabiting with Mr. Finch when daughter Martha "Patsy" was born. Patsy is listed as "Patsy Elswick" when she married John Branham. Also, undocumented sources show Molly as possible common-law spouse. - from her Mother, Molly Elswick profile.
Different records have spellings of her middle name being "Patsey", last name "Brannum". Sometimes her first name is listed as Patsey or Patsy. In many records her last name is Finch but when she married John Henry Branham her name was listed as Patsy "Elswick" (her Step-Dad's last name). Martha's biological father (Nathaniel Finch) passed away the next year after her birth. Her mother was with Jonothan "John" M. Elsewick after she became a widow, 1860 United States Federal Census shows that she was living in Wise, Virginia. Her death records show the name Martha Branham.
