Biography

Jemima Finch was born in England around 1815.

She married George Stone then they migrated to South Australia and settled at Meadows, possibly in the early 1850s with 5-7 children.

One more child was born in South Australia:

  • Helen Laura Stone, born 29 August 1855 at Kondoparinga[1] (The Hundred of Kondoparinga includes the town of Meadows as well as other localities nearby)
Jemima Stone died on 26 July 1864 at Meadows, South Australia. [2]
STONE.— On the 26th July, after a long and painful illness, borne with Christian fortitude, Jemima, the beloved wife of George Stone, of the Meadows, in her 50th year. Her end was peace.
