Elizabeth Fincher - b. 1700 (LDS Files); m. 9-2-1722 Thomas Cox (Cocks) under care of the New Garden Monthly Meeting. John and Elinor [Cook] Fincher were among the witnesses. Elizabeth had died by 1730 when her sister, Mary Newlin, in her will, gave a bequest to Elizabeth's three young children. Her father, John, in his will of 1746, mentions Rebecca Cox, daughter of Elizabeth (Fincher) and Thomas Cox, who m. James Frazier. Albert C. Myers gives a continuation of this family in the Literary Era (Ibid).

Elizabeth's husband, Thomas Cox, m. 2nd 1730 Mary Cooke, a daughter of Peter and Elinor (Norman) Cooke. Elinor had become the 2nd wife of John Fincher. Thomas Cox moved his family to York Co., Pa. ca 1738 and then removed from Pennsylvania and went to North Carolina ca 1757.

Elizabeth and Thomas Cox had 3 children:

(1) Rebecca Cox - m. 8-22-1740 James Fraizer at Warrington MM in York Co., Pa.

(2) Isaac Cox - m. 9-27-1741 Olive Underwood and moved to N.C. in 1753.

(3) Elizabeth Cox - m. May 1754 Warrington MM, Pa., David Jenkins, son of Thomas Jenkins. They removed to Cane Creek N.C. in 1756.

Thomas Cox was probably the son of John Cox who came from England in 1708 and settled in Kennett, Pa. Thomas Cox had children by his 2nd wife Mary Cook: Mary, Peter and others.
