- 1851 census - Fetteresso parish: Margaret is not enumerated with her parents so assuming she was working somewhere in the district, did a search entry by entry and found a 16 yr. old Margaret Findlay as a house servant for Wm. & Mary Stephen.
- Scotland Registry of Marriages has Joseph & Margaret's md. entry.
Emmigrated to USA shortly after birth of twins in 1856.
