Jack R Findley, 88 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died at 11:20 am Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the Fort Madison Community Hospital, Fort Madison, Iowa. He was born February 19, 1926 at Keokuk, Iowa, a son of Ross and Inez (Harter) Findley. In 1943, he married Gloria M. Lamb at Canton, Missouri.
Jack was a 1944 graduate of Fort Madison High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II. For 35 years, he worked for the DuPont Fabrics and Finishes Plant, of Fort Madison. He was a member the former First United Methodist Church. After retirement he and Gloria traveled extensively in the United States. They worked as volunteers for the National Park Service for several years.
He is survived by two sons, David Findley, Des Moines, Iowa and Jack Findley, Jr., Little Rock, Arkansas; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister, and one son, Monte Findley.
Per his wishes, his body has been cremated. No services are planned.
