I have a fairly well defined family tree for the Finley family. It was started by my Uncle Robert Cargill Finley in the 1940's and I have tried to keep it updated the best I can. I have it stored in Microsoft Word and can upload it to anyone that is interested.

Hi!

Just checking in with a few quick tips:

Free Space pages are wiki pages for supplementing your family history. They can be used to profile anything of significance such as a special pet, a meaningful event, a school you attended, a family heirloom… They’re “anything pages.”

Not sure what to include in a profile? Check out ourBiography Ideas and Styles and Standards help pages.

Lastly, sometimes you’ll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, please ask!

Hi Jim

You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree! Thank you for volunteering.

It is wonderful to hear you have done such research on your family tree! I do encourage to upload the GEDcom as it may help you to connect to possible ancestors that may already be here!

Have fun and ask for help if you need it! WikiTree members are always eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist.

If you need additional help, our Mentors Project is a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to assist you with WikiTree-specific problems.

See you in the branches and Welcome to WikiTree!!

Yes, I will share my family tree. I have the Finley family tree in MS Word back to the 1600's and before. My uncle Robert C. Finley started developing it back in the 1940's and I have tries to keep it updated. I would be happy to upload it to anyone that is interested. I would like to verify the reliability of the information that I have before the 1700's. I am not sure if some of it is accurate. I am willing to help and am looking for help also.

Thanks, Allan James Finley.( I go by Jim Finley using my middle name.)

Welcome to Wikitree Allan!

The initial email from us has helpful links that get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree?

  • When you confirm your email address, you’ll see a Volunteer option on your profile page. Click that and leave us a short message about your genealogical interests. A Greeters Project Volunteer will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

Welcome to the Family, we’re really glad you’re here.
