Biography

Katharine Finney was born about 1590, likely in England. She came from England to Plymouth, Massachusetts before 1637, in the company of two brothers and her mother.[1]

Another source gives Katharine's birth year about 1596, likely in Lenton, England.[2]

Katherine Finney married Gabriel Fallowell by about 1618 in England.[3]

Katharine and Gabriel had three known children:[1]

  1. John, m Sarah (unknown) and had a daughter Sarah; mentioned in his mother's will[2](Note: John Fallowell mentioned in Katherine Finney Farrowell's will has no relationship tied to him. John is not mentioned in father's will.), d He was deceased before 1649.[1]
  2. Anne, m Thomas Pope; d in May 1646; b in England ca 1616[2]
  3. William, b in England ca 1614; m Martha Beal at Plymouth, Massachusetts, 1640; d before June 29, 1649[2]

Katherine (Finney) Fallowell was the sister of Robert Finney. She died June 7, 1673.[4]

Probate

Her will is dated 29 March 1673 and exhibited at the court in Plymouth on 5 June 1676. She mentions her late husband, Gabriel, Sarah, daughter of John Fallowell, her daughter, the wife of John Fallowell, her two grandchildren, Jonathan Fallowell and Hannah (Pope) Bartlett, wife of Joseph Bartlett, her sister Ann King, and her cousins, Samuel King, Joseph King, Isaac King, and Hannah May, and her brother Robert Finney. Katherine's and her late husband's inventory was exhibited at Plymouth Court.[5]
