2083 DEA. JOHN OWEN9 FISH (Nathan8, Sands7, Nathan6, Nathan5, Samuel4, John3, Alice2, John1), banker, son of (1990) Hon. Nathan G. and Emeline (Miner) Fish, was b. at Mystic, Conn., Jan. 10, 1839; d. there Mar. 2, 1908.
He early entered the employ of his father on Water Street; then entered the banking business and for over 42 years was identified with the Mystic River National Bank of which he was a Director. He was secretary of the Groton Savings Bank, and was for many years treasurer of Groton, his election being always unanimous, as the nominee of both parties. He was a charter member of Gary Lodge A. O. U. W., and a deacon of the Union Baptist Church. He was a man of unquestioned integrity and respected by all classes at Mystic. On Dec. 1, 1868, he m. Frances Eldridge, dau. of Robert and Melinna Eldridge of New York.
Children: 2086 Emeline F.10 b. Sept. 19, 1869. 2087 Nathan Gallup, b. Nov. 22, 1871; d. Nov. 6, 1915; was an inspector for the New Haven R. R.; had a dau., (2087 1/2) Jessie11.
Deacon John Owen Fish died 2 Mar 1908 at Mystic, Connecticut. His grave is in Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic, New London County, Connecticut, USA [2].
