Biography
ALICE (FISH) KNOWLES was a daughter of Thomas Fish (bef.1619-1687) and Mary (uncertain maiden surname) Fish. She was born in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, about 1655. She died there in 1734, age about 79 [1].
About 1674-5, she married William Knowles, son of Henry Knowles (1645-1727). [1], at Kingston, Rhode Island [2].
They had the following children [3] (not necessarily in this order):
- Rose (Knowles) Wilson (1673-1749); married John Wilson
- Henry Knowles b: about 29 SEP 1675; married 1) Susannah Boss; 2) Mary Case
- William Knowles Jr. b: ABT 1677; married Hannah Browning
- John Knowles (abt.1683-abt.1772); married Elizabeth Warner
- Mary (Knowles) Chase b: ABT 1685; married Ebenezer Chase
- Martha (Knowles) Sherman (abt.1690-1746); married Samuel Sherman
