Biography

DEA. HORACE WALWORTH9 FISH (Nathan8, Sands7, Nathan6, Nathan5, Samuel4, John3, Alice2, John1), son of Nathan and Emeline (Miner) Fish, was b. Oct. 24, 1840; d. Mar. 1927, at 86, at his home, 31 West 90th St., New York [1].

On Oct. 24, 1867, he married Anna Babcock (Potter) Fish (1846-1935), daughter of Dea. William H. and Bridget (Rathbun) Potter.

Children:

  • Edith, b. Sept. 9, 1868; m. Apr. 17, 1895, Charles H. Spencer, son of Charles and Agnes (Spill) Spencer, and had: Horace Fish Spencer, b. Oct. 11, 1896.
  • Alice, b. Dec. 23, 1870; m. Mar. 21, 1889, Samuel A. McGuire, son of Samuel K. and Mary J. (McCullough) McGuire, and had Grace Evelyn McGuire, b. Jan. 29, 1901
  • Harry Potter, b. Apr. 29, 1887.

He was president of the Potter Printing Press Co., retired as of the 1910 census.

He was a member and deacon of Fifth Ave. (now Park Ave.) Baptist Church for 45 years.
