Hilary (Ilaria, Helar, probably Latin Hilaria)'s birth year is not known, but circumstantial evidence suggests it must have been in the early 1200s.
Ilaria was one of three grand-daughters and heiresses of Ralph FitzWilliam. [1] [2]
She married John FitzUrse, by which her share of the manor of Withycombe ultimately descended to her son Ralph FitzUrse. [3]
In the reign of Henry III (1216-1272) she and her then-husband Richard of Combe inherited the manor of Withycombe.[1] She and Richard are mentioned in assizes of 1238 and 1243. [4]
