To-date I cannot prove or disprove that the Fitzgerald's of Virginia have a direct tie the Fitzgerald's of Boston, Mass. (and thus Rose (Fitzgerald) Kennedy). For this to be the case the Edmond Fitzgerald's on this profile, son, Michael Fitzgerald would have had to have been born in Ireland. So this Edmond Fitzgerald's father was born in Ireland; Edmund born in Virginia; and then Edmond's son Michael would have to had been born in Ireland. I am leading toward this not being the case. What I have found is that Rose (Fitzgerald) Kennedy's Royal Fitzgerald's ancestors in Ireland are also the ancestors of these Fitzgerald's in Virginia. However I just am not so sure if Rose descends from the Fitzgerald's in Virginia (more likely directly from Fitzgerald's that remained in Ireland). - Jim Miller
Found a George Fitzgerald, MD born 1806 in Nottoway Co., VA (WikiTree Fitzgerald-306) who had a son, Edmund O. Fitzgerald. George could be a son of the Edmund Fitzgerald on this profile; since George named a son, Edmund O. Fitzgerald.
Also there was Edmond Fitzgerald (father of the bride), whose daughter, Nancy Fitzgerald, married Hardin Wilson on 10/13/1806 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. This could be the Edmond Fitzgerald born 1751 on this profile who had a daughter named Nancy.
I found a record on FindAGrave that would indicate the above Edmund Fitzgerald are NOT related to the Amelia County, VA Fitzgeralds (they appear to be related to WikiTree Fitzgerald-2054): Find A Grave: Memorial #134153763
5/9/1883: There was an African American child named Mary Fitzgerald born to an Edmund & Eliza Fitzgerald in Nottoway County, Virginia. The father likely descended from slaves on the Fitzgerald Plantation in Nottoway County owned by William Fitzgerald-I (who was born in Ireland).
Found an Edmond Fitzgerald listed on FindAGrave buried at Garranekinnefeake Cemetery in Ballynacorra, County Cork, Ireland (about 50 miles south of Bruff, Ireland on the south coast of Ireland). No birth date/location is given. He died on 3/5/1806. However there is a statement (maybe on the tombstone?), "Brother of William, aged 20 years." which would indicate he was born in 1786 (when this Edmond Fitzgerald would have been around 35, so COULD be this Edmond's son - but no proof). The Edmond on this WIkiTree profile father was named William, so the fact this Edmond that died had a brother named William could support a possible relationship.:

An Edmund Fitzgerald was on the 1830 Pittsylvania County, (west of Amelia Co. around Danville, VA) Virginia Census who could have been this Edmund Miller's grandson (or maybe son):
