Biography

Sanders writes that Hugh took over the barony after 1100 and died before 1140.[1]

Keats-Rohan has an entry for his wife, headed "de Sai, Eustachia":[2]

Eustachia de Say, wife of Hugh fitz Osbern of Richard's Castle. Their son Osbert was a minor at the time of Hugh's death c.1136/39. He was eventually succeeded in 1185 by Eustachia's younger son Hugh, who adopted her name of de Say. Her parentage is unknown, but she was doubtless related to the William de Say who occurs in a Worcester Survey of c.1086, and was possibly a daughter of Theoderic de Say of Stokesay, Founder of Westwood priory for nuns c.1135 (Rec. des actes d'Henri II, i, 73).

Krye Wyard

[Seems to not be based on any specific information about this generation?]

There were three manors called Kyre in Worcestershire at the date of the Domesday Survey. That afterwards known as KYRE WYARD, from its occupation by the family of Wyard, belonged in 1086 to Osbern Fitz Richard and had been held formerly by King Edward the Confessor.[3]

According to Heming, it had originally been held with Clifton upon Teme (q.v.) and other manors by the monks of Worcester, who had been deprived of their property by Earl Hakon at the time of the Danish invasion.[4] The overlordship remained with the heirs of Osbern, following the descent of Wychbold in Dodderhill [5] ...

Scrope-194 and FitzOsbern-30 appear to represent the same person because: It appears FitzOsbern should be the correct LNAB here, please merge.
John,

Looks like Hugh needs to be detached from Unknown and merged with FitzOsbern-30, if we're gonna use FitzOsbern as the LNAB ...

His fathers profile clearly shows he was son of Nest.

Thanks

Scrope-194 and Fitzosbern-2 are not ready to be merged because: If we are to end up with the LNAB of FitzOsbern, the correct merges need to be into FitzOsbern-30
Fitzosbern-2 and Scrope-194 appear to represent the same person because: Obvious merge. LNAB should be FitzOsbern. Concerning Scrope I am not sure it should be mentioned at all. It seems to be an assumption based on the fact that they had an ancestor with this as a first name.

Fitzosbern-2 and FitzOsbern-30 appear to represent the same person because: Obvious merge. Have also made remarks on profiles. FitzOsbern should be the surname. I see no evidence they use Scrope.

Two sons named Osbern should be merged (or one disconnected?)
