William FitzWilliam, 3rd Viscount FitzWilliam was the son of Thomas Fitzwilliam, 1st Viscount Fitzwilliam and Margaret Plunkett, da. of Oliver Plunket, 4th Baron Louth and Frances Bagnall, da. of Sir Nicholas Bagnall, Knt. Marshall of Ireland. He m. Mary Luttrell (in or before 1673), sister and in her issue hrss. of Thomas Luttrell, of Ranagham, co. Westmeath, and dau. of Thomas Luttrell, of Luttrellstown, co. Dublin, by his second wife Hon Alison St Lawrence, dau. of Nicholas [St Lawrence], 10th Baron Howth.
He was Lt.-Gen. of Shropshire during the Civil War. He d. bef. 1673.
