JOHN, of Bletsoe, co. Bedford. He d.s.p. “of his ordinary malady of the stone,” while leading the van of the army into Scotland, 15 Oct. 1542, at Newcastle-upon-Tyne and was probably bur. there. Will dat. 10 Sep. 1542, pr. 16 Feb. 1542/3. Inq. pm. at East Grinstead, 19 Aug. 36 Hen. VIII. At his death the Earldom became extinct. His Widow d. at Farnham, and was bur. there 1 Sep. 1550.
