Sir William FitzWilliam was born at Emley, Darington, & Hathelsay, Yorkshire, England. He married Maud Cromwell, daughter of Sir Ralph Cromwell, 1st Lord Cromwell and Maud Bernake, before 1377; They had 2 sons (Sir John; & Ralph, a clerk) and 2 daughters (Joan, wife of Sir Henry Sothill; & Elizabeth, wife of Sir Robert Rockley).2,10,3,4,5,6 Sir William FitzWilliam died on 8 April 1398.2,3,5,6
