Biography

"Sylvester Martin came to this town, from Rehoboth, Mass., at an early day, married Elizabeth Ford, and reared seven children. His son Asa W., who served as sheriff of Grafton county for fourteen years, married Amy Martin, daughter of Joseph and Hannah (Wheeler) Flagg, and reared six sons and two daughters. He [Asa] died in 1876, aged seventy-six years... Jacob [Wheeler Martin] lives in Eureka, Cal."[1]
