Biography

According to the 1900 Census, [1] Martin Luther Flanagan was born in May 1882. He and his parents were living in the Dry Fork District of Tucker County West Virginia, presumably in or near Laneville where he spent much of his life.

A marriage license was issued to Martin Flanagan and Mary C. Varner on June 24, 1903 in Tucker County, West Virginia, [2] and they were married there on July 11. [3]

Martin registered for the WWI 1917-1918 draft on September 12, 1918. He is described as a self-employed farmer in Laneville, West Virginia, with light blue eyes and dark hair, and tall and slender in build. [4]

Martin and Lottie were living in Dry Fork, Tucker County, West Virginia by 1920 with four children. [5]

Martin Luther Flanagan is buried in the Flanagan Memorial Cemetery in Laneville, Tucker, West Virginia. [6]
