Civil Servant. ICS: resigned and joined up in 1914 - Royal Field Artillery. Spoke eleven languages and wrote seven. CBE 1946 - got quite Br Gaz shows him appointed OBE - other buggers efforts 1935, then working at Salt Dept Bombay - NB salt strikes; died aged 79 and so it should 13 June 1878. DC in Bombay presidency. Turned down governorate of Bahrein in 1929. [1]
