Just a heads up . . . you added your yDNA test information to your profile but this test will not be connected to paternal-line family members unless the Privacy Level is changed to "Private with a Public Family Tree" or higher.
How are you? I'm David a WikiTree Mentor.
Thanks for adding profiles to WikiTree. There are reasons behind the eighth point in our Honor Code: "We cite sources. Without sources we can't objectively resolve conflicting information.
Hi Dave, If you've requested to collaborate with another user, and they are unresponsive, please go to the profile you would like access to, and in the very very very bottom right, click the "Unresponsive User" link, which will connect you with the right team member to help you out (Paul). Best regards, ~tami, wikitree Community Assistant
David, I just want to personally welcome you to our friendly community.
You mention you are adding sources and working on your early efforts after twenty years of doing your genealogy. That is exactly the attitude we appreciate most at WikiTree. Once you are comfortable with the way our Wiki is set up, I hope you will take a look at the Projects list, which may connect you with special branches of your tree.
You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.
If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top left, or head over to the G2G forum, you might want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.
Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.
Good luck growing your branches, and thanks for offering to help with our shared tree :)
I am a retired professor of Civil Engineering at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. I have been compiling the genealogy of my ancestors for about 20 years. Since many more sources are now available online, I am currently adding sources and confirming/correcting information from my early efforts
Hi! I see you have uploaded your DNA for comparison. Did you know we have a project for DNA where a lot of great new things are happening? If you are interested and would like to check it out, go to the FIND link top right of your profile page, select PROJECTS from the drop down box, and then select the link for the DNA project. It has information listed that might be of interest to you, and feel free to contact any of the members if you would like additional details.
Hello David, I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process including screenshots that you might find helpful.
The help pages give lots of information about the process, best to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM'. If you have any questions, Please contact Ms. Eowyn Langholf. Thank you

Sources are critically important for genealogy and you will be helping future genealogists by listing where the information you've added came from. This page describes sources and how to enter sources.

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.
Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.
If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.
Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.
