Biography

Elden Parker Fletcher was born in Maine in 1891, the son and youngest of three children of Harry True Dustin Fletcher Sr and Elizabeth Burrill Howe.

The 1910 US census report for Washington, DC dated 18 April 1910 shows Elden Parker Fletcher (18), born in Maine a laborer at a bakery living at a boarding home on New Jersey Avenue. However, the census report for Strong, Maine dated 23 Apr 1910 shows Elden (18) living with his parents. His employment is as a baker.

He enlisted in the service during WWI on 6 Apr 1917 and was discharged on 1 Feb 1923. His WWII draft registration in 1942 shows that he resided at Redwood City, San Mateo, California.

He married Winifred Hunt Pitman Pomeroy (also found as Pomroy) on 28 Dec 1921 at San Francisco, California. She is the daughter of Lemuel M Pitman and Melinda A Watson and was born in Minnesota. It is her second marriage and Elden's first.

The 1930 US census for San Francisco, California shows Elden (39) married to Winfred [sic] (42) living at 270 Holyoke. He is an electrician working at a shop. They rent for $36 a month. He was 30 when first married.

The 1940 US census report for Redwood City, San Mateo, California shows Elden (49), an electrician and his wife Winifred (60) living at 1578 Kentwood. They own their home valued at $5000 and he is an electrician for a public utility.

He died on 27 Nov 1970 at Napa County, California.
