Notes

Lois (my great-grandmother) and Edward's daughter,Gertrude (my grandmother) had the following five children. They also had a stillborn baby. Gertrude married Alexander John Fletcher. Gertrude was born in Walsall, UK and emigrated to Hamilton, Ontario with her sister Lillian and her mother, Lois Moseley Richards to join Edward Richards who was already there with his two sons - George and Albert.

Edward - my father - two daughters - Lois and Judith Wilfred - no children Melvin - two daughters - Frances and Marlene Doris Dietz - one son - Kirk Vera Tisdale - two daughters - Sandra and Lee and one son Richard

  • You might wonder how Wilfred was my Uncle. Wilfred was son of Alexander and Gertrude. He had five other siblings: Edward, John, Melvin, Doris and Vera and he married Helen Antoszek who was my Aunt. Wilfred and Helen sponsored my family to immigrate to Canada in 1958. Uncle Wilf as I called him, died of cancer in 1962. I was 9 at the time and I loved him very much even though he was an Uncle through marriage. In fact, he had such an effect on my life that I never forgot him. He seemed more family to me than my own Aunt. I visited Alexander and Gertrude a number of times and I can recall their home. I just wanted to say hello. I’m not part of your genoeology but Uncle Wilf was my circumstantial Uncle and I wanted you to know that he is still remembered and he is still loved by this Polish girl who was lucky enough to know him for four wonderful years.
