Sarah Ann Floyd was born on Dec 28, 1887 in Mississippi, USA as the first child of Elbert Anse Floyd and Martha Ann McAlpin.

Mrs. A. B. Smith Succumbs; Rites Held Sunday ^[2]

Funeral services for Mrs. A. B. Smith of Mendenhall were conducted at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. R. C. Bounds officiating, assisted by Rev. Guy Gray. Interment followed in the Harmony cemetery with the Mims Mitchell Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Smith, 74 succumbed to a lengthy illness at Magee General Hospital February 22. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and a Smith County native.

Survivors include her husband, A. B. Smith, Mendenhall; 2 sons, J. E. Mayfield, Magee, George W. Mayfield, Chickasaw, Ala.; 5 daughters, Mrs. James W. Allen, Magee; Mrs. Ruby Lee Edwards, Mendenhall; Mrs. D. W. Kennedy, Mobile, Ala.; Mrs. J. L. Layton, Theodore, Ala.; Mrs. E. L. Bounds, Hattiesburg; 3 brothers, Arthur Floyd, Magee, Charlie Floyd and Colon Floyd of Jackson; 3 sisters, Mrs. Mary Ann Turner, Mize; Mrs. Bertie Scoggins, Raleigh; Mrs. Mattie Walters, Quitman; 5 step sons and 2 step daughters.
