Biography

John Flynn was born in 1850 in Preston, Lancashire, England to John Flynn and Bridget (Dempsey) Flynn. His birth was registered in Preston in the first quarter of the year (as John Flinn), with mother's maiden name Dempsey.^[1]

In 1851 John Flynn (age 1) was a lodger at Canal Street in Preston, Lancashire, England along with his father John (29, Ag Laborer) and mother Bridget (22).^[2]

In 1861 John Flinn (age 11, Cotton Creeler) lived at Canal Street in Preston with his father John (34, Agricultural Labourer), mother Bridget (36), and two siblings: Patrick (6, Scholar) and Margaret (2), as well as three lodgers: John Coggins (26, Agricultural Labourer), Ann Coggins (27), and Catherine Coggins (6, Scholar).^[3]

John's father passed away before 1871.
