"Mary Ann Laughlin's parents were Hanora Flynn and Daniel Laughlin (could be spelled O'Loghlin). Pert thinks they came from County Clare. [Nicholas Laughlin's biography states the family was from Kerry]. They came to Detroit, Mich. were married there and went to Negaunee to work in the iron mine. . . . Hanora Flynn, your great great grand-mother had a brother Daniel Flynn who came to the U.S. and married an O'Keefe. She was the mother of Tom Scanlon's wife [Aunt Hannah Flynn], brother of your grandfather."[1][2][3]

Daniel Flynn married Ellen O'Keefe. Their daughter, Hanora Flynn, known as Aunt Hannah, married Tom Scanlon, an older brother of Edward Scanlon, your grandfather. . . . "

Why did Daniel emigrate more than 15 year's after Hanora? At a minimum, since he was 10 or 15 years younger than his sister, their mothers were probably not the same.
