Biography

Anne Follansby (more commonly spelled Follansbee) was born in about 1668 in Newbury, Massachusetts. She was the fourth child born to Thomas Follansbee and Mary Bradford.

Anne married, as his first wife, Moses Chase, an Ensign in the Essex Regiment, on 10 November 1684.[1][2] Their firstborn children were twin boys, Moses and Daniel, who were born on 20 September 1685. Moses died sometime within the first two years of his life; Daniel grew to adulthood, married, had children, and died at the age of 83.[3]

Anne and her husband Moses had a third child, whom they also named Moses. Like Daniel, this Moses grew to adulthood, had a family, and lived to the relatively old age of 72.

Anne and her husband Moses had six more children, as follows:

Samuel was born in 1690 and lived until 1743
Elizabeth was born in 1693 and lived until 1764
Stephen was born in 1696 and lived until 1756
Hannah was born in 1699 and lived until 1740
Joseph was born in 1703 and lived until 1782
Benoni was born in 1708 and lived until 1788

Anne Follansbee Chase died approximately two weeks after the birth of Benoni, her youngest child, on April 18, 1708.[4] She is buried in the Sawyer Hill Burying Ground in Newburyport (formerly Newbury), Massachusetts.[5] Her gravestone is engraved:

Removed Joseph Chase as spouse. There were no sources to back this up. Also, all sources speak to her only having married Moses Chase.

Follansbee-232 and Follansbee-9 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, approximately same birth, mother of same person
