Biography
Jeremiah was Choctaw.
Jeremiah Folsom was born about 1800 to Edmund Folsom and his Choctaw wife, identified as Yokaliti. He was married to Mary Nail about 1818. The children of Jeremiah and Mary may number as many as 15.
On the 1831 Armstrong Roll is listed Capt. Jeremiah Folsom, with 10 in his family, living at Sukenatahka, Nosho-i-tubbi District, Mississippi.[1]
The family emigrated on the Trail of Tears to the New Choctaw Nation in late 1831/early 1832.
