Biography

Elizabeth Ford was born in Birmingham, Warwickshire in about 1846 according to the 1881 census; but in about 1849 according to the 1891 census! Given her marriage in 1861, the former date seems more likely.

She married George Prince in the 3rd quarter of 1861. Their marriage was registered in the Aston district of Warwickshire.^[1]

In the 1881 census, the family are shown living High Park St, Aston. George is listed as a painter and the household consists of George and Elizabeth and their six children: William (15), Emily (12), Henry (10), Laura (8), George (6) and Elizabeth (2).^[2]

By 1891, George was still a painter, but the family had moved to Church Lane, Aston. The children living at home were Emily (21), James (18), George (15), Elizabeth (12) and William (3).^[3]

Her death was registered in the Aston district of Warwickshire in the 4th quarter of 1893, at age 45.^[4]
