WILLIAM FORDHAM of Sacombe, husbandman. (Date 27 March. 1581). William Fordham my late father deceased; Henry Bole; Edward Carde servant to Mr Phillip Butler; George Tyler; Brother Phillip Fordham; Wife Joane; Daughters Elizabeth & Sara (under 21); The ferme called the Scale in Hartford; Brother Thomas Fordham; Sisters Joane, Margaret & Agnes Fordham; Father in law John Skyngle & Nicholas Shanbroke executors. Witnesses Edmond Bridgman, Nicholas Gylman, John Wolmer, William Browne, William Chamber. (Probate 31 May 1581).

They are probably the William Fordham who married Ellen Sell in Therfield in 1543, and William Fordham who married Joan Tomlin in Therfield in 1564. This William would have been born in about 1544. The two daughters mentioned in his will were under the age of 21. (Hertfordshire Names Online)[3]
