"In Magdalene-street is an almshouse founded for four poor widows, by John Palmer, in 1479. Another, called Moore's, was endowed by John Moore, esq. and Bartholomew Fortescue, in the beginning of the sixteenth century, for three indigent persons, on the Exeter Bridge." https://archive.org/stream/historyofexeter00oliv/historyofexeter00oliv_djvu.txt

Hi PMs, Thank you for the very good biography and sources for this profile. I notice that it says that Bartholomew's daughter Mary married Humphrey Yeo, rather than Robert Yeo (currently her spouse on WikiTree). I don't have access to the 'Royal Ancestry' source quoted. The Yeo society research seems to support the suggestion that the husband is Robert. Do any of you know any more about the discrepancy? Many thanks, Gillian
