François Fortin was born 28 Oct 1695 and baptized 3 Nov 1695 in the parish of Saint-Ignace-de-Loyola, Cap St-Ignace, Canada, Nouvelle-France. He was the son of Eustache Fortin and Louise Cloutier and his godparents were René Cloutier grandfather of the infant and Ursule Cloutier wife of sieur Nicolas Gamache. ^[1]
