"Died: At Barrington, on Monday the 17th instant, Mr. Joshua Foss, in the 100th year of his age. His character is well worth remark and more worthy of imitation. The fortitude of his mind, the rectitude of his maners, the mildness of his temper, together with the universal temperate way of living, is not exceeded perhaps of any in the present age,

Those who would wise to long enjoy
Their health and strength and reason,
Should live as temperate as he did,
Then drop like corn in season.
