Bessie was adopted by the Foss family in Ipswich, Massachusetts before 1900. Bessie's age at death was 67, her b/day would have been 12 June 1895. Age on marriage certificate was 17 in 1910, making her b/day June 1893 According to United States Census- at age 6 she was adopted by the Foss family making the adoption date about 1899.

Bessie was adopted by the Foss family of Ipswich, Massachusetts about 1899. Bessie was presumably born in Ipswich, MA. She was born about 1893 according to census records which also indicated her adoption. Two females were born in Ipswich about the same time, there birth certificates did not show a fathers name.
