Mary Geneva Foster was born on 29 January 1926 in Mathews, Virginia, United States.^[1][2] She was the daughter of Simon P Foster and Rosa A Ware. In the 1930 census Mary (age 4) was the granddaughter of Simon P Foster on East River Road, Westville, Mathews, Virginia, United States.^[3] In the 1940 census Mary (age 14) was the daughter of Philip S Foster in Westville District, Mathews, Virginia, United States.^[4]

Age 20, Mary Geneva Foster married Roy Lee Cary (1915 - ), son of Perry Cary and Lydia Jackson on 16 Nov 1946 at Mathews, Virginia, United States.^[5] In the 1950 census Mary (age 24) was the wife of Roy L Carey in Westville, Mathews, Virginia, United States.^[6]

Age 40 Mary Foster Carey married James Lewis Ruff, Age 28 son of Clarence Ruff and Louise Jones, on 09 Dec 1967 at Gloucester, Virginia, United States.^[7]

Mary died (age 84) on 6 October 2010 in Greenwich, Connecticut.^[8]
