Martha E. Foster was born in that part of Machias, Maine, later set off as East Machias, 7 Mar 1793,

She married (1) at Machias, 7 Oct 1815, the widower, Titus Philbrook Folsom, born at Mount Vernon, Maine, c1789, the son of Peter Sanborn Folsom and Betsey Philbrick; died at East Machias before 21 Oct 1832,

when Martha married (2) at East Machias, Henry Smith Chase, born at Machias, 28 Feb 1791,

the son of William Chase and Lucy Smith.
