James Wesley Foster moved to Upshur County Texas in 1900. He settled in Ashland. He was a mail carrier at one time. He lived in a few different towns in Upshur county, Texas.
Ivy Heath and her daughter Edith Taylor were present when he died in 1927. Edith was a young girl at the time and remembers her mother telling of them helping take care of him before he died.
