Anne was born about 1523. Anne Foster ... [1] She was the daughter of Leonard Foster of Smawes, near Tadcaster.[2]
She married Thomas Wray of Richmond about 1548. An editor's footnote to her mother-in-law's will 1562 states "Thomas Wray, the eldest son of the testatrix, married Anne Foster of Smawes, and left by her several children, among whom was Sir William Wray, who settled at Beamish, in the bishoprick of Durham". Anne is not mentioned by name in the will, but only as the wife of Thomas: "I gyve to my sonne Thomas wyffe my lytyll goblet of sylver".[3]
Probable burial 4 February 1592/1593 at Richmond, Anna Wraye.[4]
