Jude Foster was a soldier of the American Revolution.[4] He began as a Private on 21 Apr 1775, responding to an early alarm and continued to enlist his services; on 30 Mar 1778, he served as a Corporal in the company of Captain Thomas Whipple, Col. Abijah Stearns' Regiment. He was granted a pension for his services, but his records were destroyed, according to the remaining pension application notes.[5][6]
In 1779, Jude married Sarah Goodnough, of Princeton. After Sarah's death, Jude married again, to Lydia M. (surname not known). From the Worcester County Probate records, we learn that Jude had five daughters: "Sally, Polly, Betsey, Lydia, and Judith."[7]

A letter in the notes for his pension application states that he died on 28 Mar 1785,[5] but this is possibly a typographical error. The Pension Roll of 1835 records his death as 28 Mar 1789.[9]
Jude Foster passed away on 28 Mar 1789 in Paxton, Worcester, Massachusetts.[8]
