  • In 1796, America Fowler paid Zadock Ford 20 £ sterling for 100 acres in the southeast part of 540 acres granted to Zadock Ford in 1784. Witnessed by Aaron Fowler and Nicholas Garret.
  • 13 Jan 1796, Merick Fowler (Spartanburg Co.) planter to Jesse Fowler (Laurens Co.) for £20 Sterling sold 50 acres, being part of 200 acres granted 2 May 1785, by Wm. Moultrie esq. Gov. unto John Fowler. Situate in Ninety six Dist. on waters of Enoree River & recorded in Grant Book DDDD, page 230. Which sd. John Fowler made over 50 acres as a Legacy unto his Son Merick Fowler. Border: Jesse Fowler, Joel Fowler, branch. Witness Reuben (R) Stone, Nancy Wright. Signed America (A) Fowler [sic]. Witness oath by Reuben (R) Stone 13 Jan 1796 to Danl. Wright J.P. Laurens Co. Rec. 19 Feb 1796.
  • 1850: America Fowler, age 76 born South Carolina, Prairie, Hot Spring, Arkansas, living with his wife.
