Research Notes

Married #1 -- Holcomb, #3 Aveline Thompson, ca 1845 Laurens Co SC.

Linda Fowler Denison writes: "I have reason to believe that William's father was John and John's father was Richard. I believe William Anderson was William's uncle."

And Preston Myers says this: "My gg grandfather is William Fowler m. Avaline Thompson. His previous marriage was to Elizabeth Brown. I noticed that you show William's father as being John 1750 SC and grandfather as Richard 1730. I am somewhat a neophyte in genealogy but so far I have not confirmed with anyone related to me who is William Fowler's father. I have been in correspondence with a few people who seem to indicate his father may be a John or maybe another William. If you have any additional information or sources, I would greatly appreciate your assistance. My line goes from William to Butriss Fowler m. William Riley Stewart to my grandmother Mable Adele Stewart m. Daniel Monroe Craven, Jr. to my mother. Thank you for any assistance you may be able to render."

These two individuals have been encouraged to work together to solve this question.

However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:
