Biography

Daughter of Jacob Duncan Fowler II and De-Dowble-Sa (Upper Skagit) Fowler.

At age 15 she had a daughter named Evangeline. Leetta was not married to Evangeline's father. Evangeline first took the surname Derege and then the surname Romines when her mother married William Romines.

She may have married the man surnamed Derege, but no marriage record has been found. He may have been Evangeline's father.

She married William Romines in 1883.[1] William was a saloon keeper. Two-year-old Vangeline lived with Leetta and William in 1885.[2]

After the death of William Romines, Leetta married Henry C. Ross[3] and had three children by him: Hannah Pearl Ross Hall, b 5 Dec 1891, wife of Glen Hall. Lives at Alger Bay on Camano Island, 3 children. Henry Clay Ross Jr. b May 1892 (living at Everett, Wash., married, 2 children); Wanita Ross unknown b June 1894 (married, lived in Seattle as of 1917);

After the death of Leetta Fowler, Henry C. Ross married Evangeline Derege Romines, daughter of his deceased wife.[4]
