Biography

The Dusenberry ancestor was Hendrick (Henry) van Doesburgh of New Amsterdam who married Marritje Hendricks bap there Aug 28 1658. His will dated Dec 1 1742 being aged and somewhat infirm was proved May 9 1743 and is recorded in New York County His son Henry Dusenbury was of Hempstead and settled at Rye Westchester Co early in the XVIII Century having married Mary Fowler, daughter of William Fowler of Flushing and Mary Thorne daughter of John Thorne of the same place. [1][2]

Mary was born in 1683. She was the daughter of William Fowler and Mary Thorne. She passed away in 1769.[3]


"Their son William Dusinberre was baptized at Jamaica Aug 29 1714. He resided on land inherited from his father at the junction of Purchase Street and the road to White Plains which descended to his son Henry whose descendants likewise succeeded to it and which is now the country seat of the Honorable Whitelaw Reid William. Dusinberre's wife was Magdalena daughter of [Woolsey] of Bedford, son of Thomas Woolsey and Ruth Dirckje Williamson daughter of Johannes Williamson of Flatbush, etc. and Magdalena Wynants."
