This family emigrated to Nova Scotia about 1765, taking advantage of a land grant afforded to David Sherman Denison as reward for his service to the British cause during the French & Indian War.
The premise that Sarah (Fox) Denison remained in Nova Scotia is supported by a transaction in 1790, via which a part of her father's estate in Connecticut was sold to Jared Comstock. The receiver noted Sarah as of "Horton, N.S."
