Biography

Sarah Helena Fox was born in August 10, 1851 in Woodstock, Connecticut to Abiel Fox and Lucy Ingalls. Sarah married Hebert Seth Morse on December 27, 1874. She was a wife and homemaker. She passed away on July 26, 1929.

Sarah's grandson, Herbert Clark, summarized Sarah's life in his unpublished Fox Genealogy:

Sarah Helena Fox, daughter of Lucy (Ingalls) and Abiel Fox, was born Aug. 10, 1851, and died July 26, 1929 in Putnam. She was married to Herbert Seth Morse, the son of Helen (Horton) and Orrin Morse, Dec. 27 1884 (sic). Herbert S. Morse was born May 14, 1852 in Union, and died Mar. 23, 1938. Their children were: (10 Harry Ellsworth, (2) Elsie Lucy, (3) Herbert Orrin, and (4) Raymond Elton.^[1]

• 1860 - Sarah is listed as living with her father, Abiel, in Woodstock, Connecticut. Her mother, Lucy, died four years earlier in 1856. Abiel and Sarah share the dwelling with several other households.^[4]

• 1870 - Sarah is listed as still living with her father in Woodstock. ^[5]

• 1874 - Sarah marries Hebert Seth Morse on December 27.^[1]

• 1880 - Sarah, Herbert, and their children are listed as living in Putnam, Connecticut.^[6]

• 1900 - Sarah, her husband, and two children, plus his sister-in-law, Elsie Fox, are listed as living in Putnam, Connecticut.^[7]

• 1909 - Sarah and Herbert owned a cottage in Pine Grove in Niantic, Connecticut, and are reported to have been there on September 27.^[8]

• 1910 - Sarah and Herbert are living at 18 North School Street in Putnam, Connecticut with their youngest son. Her in-laws, Gurdon and Mary Marcy also live at this dwelling.^[9]

• 1920 - Sarah, Herbert, and their youngest chilld, Raymond still are listed as residing at 18 North School Street.^[10]

• 1928 - The Putnam City Directory lists Herbert and Sarah as still residing at 18 School Street in Putnam.^[11]

• 1929 - Sarah dies on July 26 in Putnam, Connecticut and is buried at the Grove St. Cemetery in Putnam^[1][12]

• 1929 - Sarah dies in Putnam, Connecticut on July 26 and is buried at the Grove St. Cemetery in Putnam^[13]
