Ken, take a look at the profile for Joseph Fox (Fox616). In the Sources section it even has a sourced excerpt stating the Joseph Fox who m. Susanna Smith, d/o Thomas Ballard Smith, was the son of Thomas Smith. This is what I was speaking of in my other comment I made on this page previously. There is some mix up between this Joseph (shown as son of this John) and the Joseph attached under this John's brother, Thomas.

I don't feel comfortable making any changes unless someone in the Project is in agreement after looking at the sourced evidence currently available.

The "source" [1] on Fox-616 only points to a database, not to a specific reliable source. This needs research before the relationship is changed.

Fox-13292 and Fox-2412 appear to represent the same person because: Both profiles show spouse as Frances Lightfoot (Fox-13292 has her as his spouse in the demo's, Fox-2412 states he was m. to Frances Lightfoot in the Biography). Both profiles show same timeframe for birth. It's the same person. Here is where it gets tricky....John Fox (Fox-13292) shows a son, Joseph (Fox-616). John Fox did have a son Joseph, but people MAY have possible confused and/or conflated Joseph Fox (Fox-616, shows as son of John Fox & Frances Lightfoot) with Joseph Fox (Fox-18363, shows as son of Thomas Fox & Mary Tunstall). Both Josephs show different fathers: One, a son of John and the other a son of Thomas. John and Thomas are brothers and are both sons of Henry Fox Sr & Anne West. The Joseph I am more concerned with regarding my Wyatt line, is the Joseph Fox who was the son of the Thomas Fox who was a witness to a deed dated 5 Feb 1764 in Spotsylvania Co., VA, from Thomas Ballard Smith of Trinity Parish, Louisa County, to grandsons Thomas Ballard Wyatt, Francis Wyatt, and John Wyatt, all sons of John Wyatt of St. George Parish, Spots County, for 300 acres in St. George Parish, Spots County. The relevance of this deed regarding Joseph Fox, is that the Virginia Magazine of History and Biography, William and Mary College Quarterly, and Tyler's Quarterly show Joseph Fox m. Susanna Smith on 6 Oct 1730 in Spotsylvania County, VA. Susanna (Smith) Fox was the sister of the above mentioned Thomas Ballard Smith. Furthermore, the John Wyatt mentioned in the deed above, the father of Thomas Ballard Wyatt, Francis Wyatt, and John Wyatt, married Elizabeth Ballard Smith, the daughter of Thomas Ballard Smith. The Mary Tunstall I mentioned earlier in this post, who married Thomas Fox, was the step-daughter of Richard Wyatt of King and Queen County (also associated with Essex County and later King William County) who m. Catherine Tunstall (widow of Edmund Tunstall). None of this is any surprise since Richard Wyatt and the mentioned John Wyatt were related and share the same Y-DNA.
