Congratulations, you've been a WikiTree member for a month! We're glad you're here. A few tips to help you dive in even deeper
Check out Beyond the Basics of WikiTree for a guide on some of our more advanced features such as Projects, Categories, and Merging.
We're very active on our social sites and we have an excellent blog where you'll find our monthly newsletter as well as tips, interviews with our members and guest posts from others in the genealogy community.
And we're always looking for volunteers to assist in different ways.
Thank you for joining WikiTree. As a WikiTree Mentor I am available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may be having. How is your experience with Wikitree going?
If you have questions regarding Gedcoms, here's the link to the GEDCOM help category:
GEDCOMS
Do you have Royal Ancestors? They are already here on Wikitree! Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.
The Help Index is also an important place to find how to do most tasks.
Feel free to ask me via my profile page if you have any questions.
I wanted to take a second to welcome you to the WikiTree family and thank you for volunteering! You are now a confirmed member.
If you already have or you are planning to upload a GEDCOM, you might want to check out Importing GEDCOMS
Keep in mind that our primary vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile.
Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.
Thank you for joining WikiTree. Our G2G Forum is searchable or you can post a question there.
The Help Index is also an important place to find how to do most tasks.
If I can be of help in any way, please let me know!
Welcome aboard!
Mary
I noticed you uploaded or plan to upload a GEDCOM. Our process here is a little different than what you might find on other sites because of our goal of growing one worldwide tree with a single profile for each individual. Here's a link to the process. Feel free to message me if you have any questions!
TIP: if your ancestor was born over two hundred years ago, there's a very good chance she/he already has a profile on wikitree. Before creating a new profile, use search to see if your ancestor is already here.
To help you find your way, the help pages and search features can be accessed through the links on the upper right hand corner of almost any page. Feel free to post a question in the G2G Forum or on a relevant profile page.
If you would like to contribute to Wikitree, please read our Honor Code carefully. It is an important part of why our community is such a friendly place. Then if you agree, click the Volunteer link to receive your ‘Volunteer’ badge, and post a comment here on your profile to tell us that you are interested in volunteering and wish to join us.
We will be very glad to welcome you to the WikiTree Community.
