Alvin was born on May 20, 1908 in Bessemer City, North Carolina.
In 1910, Alvin was living in his father's household in Fries, Virginia.[1]
In 1920, Alvin was living in his father's household in Tunstall, Virginia.[2]
Many of the family were Mormons and moved west to Salt Lake, Utah. By 1930, Alvin had made the move.[3]
Alvin married Mabel B. Cardwell on January 31, 1931.[4]
In 1940, Alvin was living with his wife and son in Ward 5, Salt Lake City, Utah. They were renting their home and Alvin was working as an Electrian's Helper.[5]
