Biography

Joseph Fox was born in Yorkshire, England.

Joseph Fox was born in 1846. He was the son of George Fox and Mary Whitfield. ^[1] Joseph was baptised on 8th November 1846, in Cawthorne, near Silkstone, Yorkshire. ^[2] Note, birth date is baptism date.

In 1851, Joseph was residing with his mother, brother and baby sister, Sarah, in Cawthorne, Yorkshire. ^[3] Joseph's father was absent from the census, but Joseph's mother was still married.

In 1861, Joseph was 14-years-old, and already he was a stonemason. ^[4]

At the age of 34, Joseph was single and still living in his mother's household, with two of his younger brothers. Willie (21) ; and James (28). His mother was now widowed. ^[5]

Joseph passed away and was buried on 19th March 1888, in Cawthorne, Yorkshire. He was 41 and it does not appear he married, nor had children. ^[6]
